Staircases are gaining more importance in building design because most staircases contribute to the architectural aesthetics of homes. Most staircases usually remain completely visible and are essential components of the home design. Staircases must look beautiful because it is often the focal point of the building interiors.  The designs of staircases Newcastle are much more diverse and modern than ever before, and you can choose from a wide range of staircases made from different materials. The flexibility in design and materials allow designers immense flexibility that boosts their creativity. It is now possible to install a staircase in any room or location of the building that helps save space and even make small spaces appear more spacious.

You can customize the staircase to suit your needs with respect to placement and aesthetics, and here are some design options for you.

Straight staircases

The simplest form of staircases is the straight staircase, which is most common too. It is easy to create these free-standing types of staircases that are easy to build, easy to climb, and its installation by connecting at the top and bottom is easy. Design customization is always possible by using different materials, steps, accessories, and balustrades, and you can even think about a central landing space somewhere midway to ease the climb. Although straight staircases are good looking and functional, it lacks the design is so simple that it does not create any unique appeal, unlike some other designs that are quite thrilling.

L-shaped staircase

The corner of a room is the best place to install an L-shaped staircase that has quarter turns. The landing space of the stairs leads to a 90-degree bend.  You can position the staircase landing at any point that suits your design, which you can completely customize. Ease of climbing is one of the attractions of this type of staircase.

U-shaped staircase

There are some basic similarities in the U-shaped staircase design with the L-shaped ones, but the landing extension is 180 degrees instead of 90 degrees. The rest spot on the landing space enhances the staircase’s safety, and it needs lesser space to install than straight staircases. Some designs of U-shaped staircase have two 90 degree landing spaces with interim steps to ease climbing.

Spiral staircases

Considered one of the most beautiful staircases, spiral staircases are unique and most sought after. The elegance and charm of the design enhance the appeal of the spiral staircases. The steps usually revolve around a single round pole. However, these staircases are not much user-friendly as it is difficult to climb up while carrying things, especially something bulky and heavy.

Winder stairs

The winder stairs’ design derives inspiration from the L-shaped staircases, but the steps are triangular instead of being flat that maximizes corner transition. Best suited in the rooms’ corner, these steps are easy to install even at a central location.

Curved staircase

The elegant looking staircases look beautiful and most suitable for businesses and commercial settings. The stirs’ flight spirals upward instead of heading up along a straight path that creates softer appeal.
