The world community is confused with the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic which is raging day by day. In order not to get infected, people are advised to keep their distance and stay at home. In order to suppress the spread of the CoronaVirus,WHO (world health organization) has instructed them to keep a distance. WHo (world health organization) also has recommended isolation at home, in the sense that work, school and worship are carried out at home. As we always stay at home, one should make the house as comfortable as possible, like using good materials such as linen curtains.

Step One: Prepare the House

Before we prepare our mindset as well as body to be productive, we have to make sure at first that our house is comfortable. A house which does not feel like home is not a home, we must make it as enjoyable as we can. One of the ways to do it is by choosing the best material for our furniture. For example, use a comfortable material like linen curtain as a curtain. It is a good material as it can absorb both heat and moisture.

Prior to the pandemic, Work from Home (WFH) activities may only apply to certain sectors of work. However, during the pandemic, more and more fields of work are implementing WFH to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, especially in office clusters. Maintaining work productivity is one of the keys to maintaining performance during WFH. It is normal if you feel bored with the pandemic situation that makes some activities limited. Therefore, you can distract yourself with activities, one of which is staying productive at work.

Staying productive at work during a pandemic is important, because it can help you to make the best use of your time by doing activities and producing work, whether for your career or whatever you want.To maintain work productivity, especially from home, there are many ways or techniques that you can follow.

How to be Productive

The first is by creating a schedule. If you weren’t too fond of scheduling, this is the time to start. By scheduling you know what to do based on the existing priorities. So you don’t have to waste time thinking about what to do first. The schedule can be adjusted according to needs, be it daily or weekly. The second is by charging the gadget before starting the day Forgetting to charge gadgets is a trivial thing that can interfere with work productivity. The tip is, after you wake up, immediately charge the gadget that will be used for work, be it a smartphone, laptop, tablet, or even a power bank. By preparing it, you can be a little relieved if there is a power outage during working hours, because the laptop and smartphone batteries are still full. Then with a fully charged power bank, at least you can charge your smartphone and keep your office people informed.

The third is by doing your morning routine as usual. The biggest temptation to do WFH is the atmosphere that is similar to a “holiday”. The simple thing you need to do is go through your usual morning routine when working from the office (WFO). Taking a shower, wearing comfortable clothes, and filling your stomach will make your mind and body better prepared for work. After bathing and having breakfast, you can start to set up a comfortable atmosphere for work. Choose a room or place in the house that has good lighting and adequate ventilation. If necessary, you can play your favorite playlist and make coffee/tea/milk as a coworker.

The last tip is to always remember that health is most important. Even if you work from home, don’t ever neglect your health, OK! Adequate sleep, regular exercise, consumption of healthy foods and vitamins are the keys so that the body is always in top condition to be able to complete work and deadlines that remain during a pandemic. Ensuring work productivity is maintained is a must to stay professional, but don’t forget to take care of your body, OK!

In addition to maintaining physical endurance, maintaining mental health during isolation is no less important. Sometimes social distancing can be boring and frustrating. You can feel the impact on feelings such as moody, lack of enthusiasm, anxiety, or lack of sleep and longing to get out of the house to meet other people. A healthy mental state will affect physical health. Therefore, it is very important to maintain mental health during the isolation period due to the coronavirus. Many people suffer from mental illness because of stress in staying at home. Taking care of your mental health can be done by chatting or video calling with your loved ones, or meditating, or watching and reading your favourite fiction.
